Like the latest “it” bag, Buffie Purselle makes personal finance and tax compliance fashionable. A powerhouse tax and personal finance professional for over eighteen years, Buffie demystifies the daunting world of taxes and personal finance with skilled, practical, and sassy guidance. Buffie recently made her cable television debut on the “The Partner” on CNBC. She was chosen out of 20,000 applicants to be part of the top ten in the nation to compete to be serial entrepreneur and star of CNBC’s “The Profit” host, Marcus Lemonis’ business partner. Buffie finished the competition as part of the Top Four.

Buffie is a serial entrepreneur and is the Founder and Managing Member of Buffie the Tax Heiress, a chain of tax and accounting practices with multiple locations in the state of Georgia; The Creative Artist Group, a business management and concierge service for busy film and tv creatives; and Crawl Before You Ball, a personal and business financial management company. Buffie is also the author of Crawl Before You Ball, a personal finance self help book to help individuals break the cycle of poverty of living from direct deposit to payday loan to direct deposit. Buffie is also a highly sought after tax and personal finance expert seen weekly on local Atlanta and national media outlets. She joins forces each tax season with WSB Channel 2 and HLN Consumer Advisor Clark Howard to help taxpayers with end of tax season tips and advice.

Buffie’s philanthropic endeavors include Image Consultant and Career Development Coach for Dress For Success Atlanta. She also volunteers at The Shrine Night Shelter where she and her husband spend the night and serve dinner and breakfast to homeless men. Buffie is also a volunteer for the Partnership Against Domestic Violence.

Buffie is happily married to Dr. David Purselle. They have one canine child named Louie and one feline child named Leo.

Dr. David Purselle, MD, MS

Dr. David Purselle is a board certified psychiatrist with over 14 years of clinical experience in Atlanta, GA. He has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient units at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, Emory University Hospital, and Grady Hospital. He has also been involved with several clinical research studies studying the effectiveness of various antidepressants, antipsychotics, and lithium.

After graduating magna cum laude with a degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Purselle attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed a residency in psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. He then earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research at Emory University in 2005.

Dr. Purselle has been recognized as a physician leader in several forums and presented continuing medical education programs at national and local conferences. He has also served as a consultant for major pharmaceutical corporations providing guidance on development of new therapies for a variety of mental illnesses.
